The 2018 BAL season kicked off with a fantastic win for Harrow at the Eton ground on Saturday! A delighted team manager Tony Bush reports below –
“Congratulations on a massive victory in yesterday’s British League fixture at Eton, our highest points score, and biggest winning margin, in 133 matches and 33 years in the British League. There were so many brilliant individual performances, as you can see from the attached results.
Jahde Williams won both B string sprints while Stephen Mears returned to top form to take the B 1500 metres behind a great debut for Neil Johnston (second in the A string). Rasmus Kisel’s front running gave him second spot in the 800 metres. Damian Nevins won the B 3000, just behind Harry Lupton’s fourth spot in the A string.
Tom Nichols won the B sprint hurdles after a great high jump of 2.05 metres. There was a double win in the triple jump with Chuko Cribb (on his debut) and Tony Daffurn. Dave Sketchley won the B javelin. Matthew Lee returned to the team after two years of injury nightmare, to record three personal bests. We finished a great day with victory in the 4 x 400 metres relay for Damaine Benjamin, Neil Holloway, Kema Egbunike and Rasmus Kisel.”
The next fixture is on Saturday 2 June in Portsmouth – keep fit!
