Middx Cross Country champs

The Middlesex CC championships were held at Horsenden Hill this afternoon.

Well done to all that ran in what were cold and muddy conditions, and dismissed winter colds to put in good performances!

  • U11 Girls – Kayla Saunders was 10th
  • U13 Boys – Alex Bickerstaff 11th
  • U17 Boys – Laurence Edwards 6th and Chris Morris 12th
  • U17 Boys team won the team cup – Laurence, Chris, Jared Richard and Ben McCarron
  • U20 Men – Tim Fenn 11th
  • Senior Women – Lucy Ashe 4th and Eilish O’Grady 8th
  • Senior Men – Damian Nevins 5th

Congratulations to the U13 to Senior individual performances above which qualified them for the Inter Counties Nationals in February.

“With illness and injury taking its toll on the squad, the senior men did well to field a team taking 8th place overall on the undulating 12 km course. Under traditional cross-mud and more mud- Damian Nevins was 5th and well supported by Jim Cooper in 18th place (2nd v40). Declan Traynor in 55th showed good form on his return from a short break with Yemane Beyene (58th) and Jonathan Hill (64th) not far behind him. There was a good return to winter competition from Sam Fenn as he finished in 84th position. In a small but competitive junior men’s race, Tim Fenn had a solid race to place 11th over the 8km course.”
